Nomvula and Uuka learn about soil erosion

A combined effort to support children’s literacy and communicating a message of environmental awareness a series of foundational reading books is being developed covering a range of environmental topics. Nomvula and Uuka learn about soil erosion is the first book in the series and tackles the topic of causes and mitigation for soil erosion in non-urban areas.

The book will be launched at the Berg River Primary School in wellington on International Water Day, 22 March. The day will be a fun day for the learners of this farm school with a variety of activities including learning about water safety, soil moisture while re-planting the school veggie patch. The fun day is supported by Woolworths, Reliance Compost, Aurecon and Sea Rescue.
