REDUCE WATER DEMAND & RE-USE WATER
The City of Cape Town has approved reducing the Level 6B water restrictions down to Level 5 restrictions, effective from 1 October 2018 until further notice, this includes a reduction in tariffs. A person is allocated 70 litres of water per day – whether you are at home, work, gym or holiday, the allocation is 70 litres per person per day.
The critical task is to reduce the demand for water, so that the available supply last longer. The water you do use, ensure it is used more than once, reuse it.
The water restrictions are going to be around for a while so settle into the routine. Saving water in your everyday life is easy. All you need to do is make small changes and adopt a general water-wise attitude to every thing you do.
If you are planning to go off the grid, here are guidelines from the City of Cape Town.
