Save Water

The City of Cape Town has approved reducing the Level 5 water restrictions down to Level 3 restrictions, effective from 1 December 2018 until further notice. A person is allocated 105 litres of water per day – whether you are at home, work, gym or holiday, the allocation is 105 litres per person per day. (Detailed Level 3 Restrictions)

The critical task is to reduce the demand for water, so that the available supply last longer. The water you do use, ensure it is used more than once, reuse it.

The water restrictions are going to be around for a while so settle into the routine. Saving water in your everyday life is easy. All you need to do is make small changes and adopt a general water-wise attitude to every thing you do.

If you are planning to go off the grid, here are guidelines from the City of Cape Town.

Please also take note of sections 56 and 57 of the City of Cape Town Water By-Law of 2010, (read with the Draft  amendment)  regarding approval by the Director. (See also the City’s link)
